Homemade Instant Oatmeal Packets

When I saw this recipe on Money Saving Mom, I knew it was for us!  My kids love oatmeal & can now make their own for breakfast.  They had fun adding sweetener to the packs (& other goodies they like as well).

We added cinnamon sugar to some, chocolate chips and raisins to others.

We took some with us when we went to Great Wolf Lodge last week & cooked them in the microwave in our room.

Homemade Instant Oatmeal Packets

To each bag add:

  • 1/2 cup instant oatmeal
  • 1 TBS sugar (we used cinnamon sugar)
  • cinnamon, raisins, chocolate chips or other mix-ins

Store in airtight container or freezer for up to 3 months.

To serve:

Pour instant oatmeal packet into a bowl and add 3/4 cup water. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, until cooked. Stir and serve. You can also cook in a saucepan on the stove, if you prefer.

Honey Limeade

I looked on the previous shoot for a long peri...

Here is a recipe we tried the other day.  It came from  my son’s Clubhouse Magazine.  We decided to try it. It is definitely kid friendly – Aaron made it himself. We liked it and will make it again.Honey Limeade

  • 5 cups water
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 TBS honey
  • 1 cup lime juice

  1. Pour water, sugar and honey into a glass container
  2. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir until sugar dissolves
  3. Pour syrup into a pitcher and stir in lime juice
  4. Chill in the refrigerator.  Enjoy!

Thanks Clubhouse Magazine!  This is a keeper!
