Luke 6: 27-28 &; 32-33

Luke 6:27-&28, 32-33

“But I tell you who hear me:  Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you…If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?  Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them.  And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you?  Even ‘sinners’ do that.”

Jesus hits the nail right on the head, doesn’t he?  How easy it is to love those that we like; people who love us.  How much harder to love those who are mean to us, who talk behind our backs, who seem to have it out for us.

Lord,

Help me to love all your children, especially those that are hard for me to love.  Help me to be an example for my children, and to learn from them how to love others.  Help me not to judge others and to give as you have given to me.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.
